Uzbekistan, Ireland discuss boosting trade-economic cooperation
On May 6, 2021, Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fazilov held videoconference talks with the Minister of State of Ireland for European Affairs Thomas Byrne.
During the conversation, the parties discussed the current state and priority areas for the further development of Uzbekistan-Ireland relations, confirmed their mutual interest in strengthening political dialogue and enhancing inter-parliamentary ties.
Particular attention was paid to the intensification of trade, economic and investment cooperation through the establishment of direct partnerships between business circles, the creation of the Uzbek-Irish Business Council, the implementation of joint investment projects involving Irish investments and technologies in Uzbekistan.
The sides considered proposals for establishing collaboration in the field of education and tourism.
Also, an exchange of views took place on certain issues of interaction between Uzbekistan and Ireland within the framework of multilateral structures.
