Uzbekistan ready for cooperation in production of electric vehicles in CIS
Uzbekistan is ready to cooperate with partners from the CIS to develop the production of electric vehicles.
The CIS Inter-State Council on Industrial Safety has recently held its next regular meeting via video conference.
“The Uzbek side announced its readiness for cooperation in the development of production of electric vehicles in the CIS,” the statement says.
The Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction presented a draft program of conceptual directions for the development of industrial cooperation between the CIS countries.
The ministry recalled that at the end of 2020, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed to adopt a program of industrial cooperation in the CIS.
Electric vehicles are not currently produced in Uzbekistan.
In December 2020, the government announced plans to transfer UzAvtoSanoat to the production of electric cars.
