On July 6, Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the first president of Kazakhstan – Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev.
According to the press service of the head of state, the President cordially congratulated Elbasy on his birthday, sincerely wishing him good health, prosperity and great success, as well as peace and prosperity to the people of Kazakhstan.
“The special role of Nursultan Nazarbayev in the formation of modern Kazakhstan and increasing the country’s prestige in the international arena, his great contribution to strengthening the Uzbek-Kazakh relations of good-neighborliness and strategic partnership, as well as ensuring stability and sustainable development in the region were emphasized. Topical issues of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan were discussed. The importance of further promotion of priority projects in the field of trade, industry, agriculture, transport and logistics, tourism, joint programs in the cultural-humanitarian sphere was emphasized,” the report said.
They also exchanged views on the regional agenda, primarily in the context of the aggravation of the situation in Afghanistan.
In addition, the schedule of upcoming bilateral and multilateral events was considered, including the holding of the next consultative meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia, the honorary chairman of which is the first president of Kazakhstan.
