Shavkat Mirziyoyev receives Foreign Minister of China

On July 15, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Wang Yi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, who is on an official visit in Uzbekistan.

The issues of further strengthening the relations of friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China were considered at the meeting.

Minister Wang Yi conveyed greetings and best wishes of President Xi Jinping to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The initiative of Uzbekistan to develop bilateral ties with Central and South Asian countries was highly appreciated and supported, confidence was expressed in the success of the conference to be held in Tashkent.

The meeting focused on the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level, including the promotion of joint programs and projects in trade-economic, investment, financial-technical, cultural and humanitarian spheres and other areas of multifaceted cooperation. It was stressed that it is important to continue close collaboration in the fight against the pandemic.

The sides exchanged views on the international agenda, including the situation in Afghanistan.
