Statistics Committee announces regions with the highest and lowest number of population

The State Statistics Committee has announced the regions with the highest and lowest level of population.

According to the committee, as of October 1, 2021, the regions with the largest number of permanent residents among the districts and cities of the republic were:

Namangan city - 657 thousand people;
Samarkand city - 559.4 thousand people;
Urgut district - 528.9 thousand people;
Andijan city - 456.4 thousand people;
Chirakchi district - 428.8 thousand people;
Denau district - 397.3 thousand people;
Almazar district - 383.1 thousand people;
Pastdargom district - 365.3 thousand people;
Yunusabad district - 356.9 thousand people;
Shaykhantakhur district - 352.8 thousand people.

Also, according to the State Statistics Committee, as of October 1, the cities and districts with the smallest permanent population were:

Gazgan city - 8.9 thousand people;
Tamdy district - 15.3 thousand people;
Karaulbazar district - 18.9 thousand people;
Bozatau district - 21.8 thousand people;
Shirin city - 19 thousand people;
Yangiabad district - 28.9 thousand people;
Muynak district - 32.8 thousand people;
Kanimekh district - 36.6 thousand people;
Uchkuduk district - 38.1 thousand people;
Ahangaran city - 39.9 thousand people.

As of October 1, the permanent population of the republic was 35,079,190 people. The number of women was 17,432,730 and men – 17,646,460.
