Citizens of Uzbekistan may exchange their driver’s licenses in Russia now
According to the government’s decision, citizens of Uzbekistan residing in Russia can apply to consular offices to replace their national driving licenses with new ones.

The government has approved a temporary regulation on the procedure for replacing the old national driving license of Uzbekistan in the consulates of Uzbekistan in Russia. This was reported by the Ministry of Justice.
Reportedly, the new national driver’s license will be issued by the General Traffic Safety Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs through the consular post.
The applicant may personally apply to the consular post to replace the old national driving license with a new one.
The consular post fills out the application on behalf of the applicant and sends it to the Ministry of Internal Affairs within 1 working day.
After reviewing the certificate, the Traffic Safety Directorate will issue a new national driver’s license within 1 working day and send it to the Consular and Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (CLD MFA).
Accordingly, the CLD MFA will submit a driver’s license to the consulate by diplomatic mail.
In accordance with the statute, the consular post will issue a new national driver’s license to the holder within 1 business day or refuse it for valid reasons.
To replace the old national driver’s license with a new one, the following is charged:
- Payment in the amount of 70% of BCA;
- A consular fee of $20;
- A fee of $20 to cover actual expenses.
