Procedure for state genome registration established

The system for state registration of the genome has been approved, the Ministry of Justice reports.

Biological data will be used in investigating crimes and unsolved cases, searching for missing people, as well as determining the identity of unidentified corpses and kinship of people.

The following will be included in the mandatory genome list:

• persons who committed severe crimes against youngsters, those who had sexual intercourse with minors;
• persons who are suspected or accused of committing a serious or severe crime;
• unrecognized corpses.

Voluntary state registration of the genome is carried out on a paid basis upon written application.
