Gov’t extends deadline to develop Tashkent’s master plan by the end of 2022
The Government of Uzbekistan has decided to extend the deadline for developing Tashkent’s master plan by the end of 2022.
The master plan will be developed by the Tashkent city administration together with the Ministry of Construction.
In addition, the city authorities should take “special care” for developing districts and mahallas that joined Tashkent after the borders of the city changed.
Reportedly, 5.46 trillion soums will be spent on 742 different projects to be implemented by the end of the next year.
City activists are, however, concerned that extending the deadline may serve as a basis for further demolitions.
