At the same time, in comparison with October 2020, the demand in the domestic car market showed an increase of 10%.

After the restrictions were lifted due to the coronavirus pandemic in mid-August last year, demand for car purchases rose 54.3% in August compared to July. The deferred demand continued to be satisfied until the end of the year.

Thus, the domestic car market returned to pre-crisis indicators in the fall of 2020, and in October this year it showed a significant leap upward. Thus, compared to October 2019, car sales increased significantly by 31.1%.

It is noted that the global microchip shortage caused by the coronavirus pandemic continues to hold back production in the automotive industry. Under these conditions, the significant growth in the automotive market is mainly due to the increase in sales in the aftermarket. If in October 50.1 thousand vehicles were sold, then in September this figure was 40.3 thousand units (an increase of 24.3%). There is a lot of activity in the primary car market. In October, 20.6 thousand new cars were sold, which is 58.5% more than in September.

Experts note that sales of foreign cars slightly decreased compared to September (2,343 units), and increased by 38.2% (1,021 units) compared to August.

During this period, most foreign cars were sold in the city of Tashkent (5209 units), Fergana (1,610 units), Tashkent (834 units) and Samarkand (505 units) regions.

In general, in January-October, 152.2 thousand new passenger cars were registered in the republic, including 9.9 thousand or 6.5% of foreign cars.
