Statistics Committee names provinces with highest birth rate for January
In January 2022, 69,198 births were registered in the country, the State Statistics Committee reports.
This is 6,918 more than in the same period last year.
By the number of births in the context of regions, Samarkand is in the lead with 8,516 births, followed by Fergana region (7,528) and Kashkadarya region (7,417).
Andijan registered 6,249 births during the reporting period, Surkhandarya – 6,060, Namangan – 6,046, the city of Tashkent – 5,864, Tashkent region – 4,184, Bukhara – 3,493, Karakalpakstan – 3,408 and Khorezm – 3,386.
Provinces with the lowest birth rate are Jizzakh – 3,198, Navoi – 1,934 and Syrdarya – 1,915.
