Draft law on amendments to Constitution submitted to parliament
The Constitutional Commission concluded that more than 170 amendments and additions should be made to 66 articles of the Constitution of Uzbekistan. The bill has been submitted to parliament. The project has not yet been made public.
Today, July 22, at a joint meeting of the responsible committees, a draft Constitutional Law was adopted for consideration.
On the basis of recommendations of the relevant ministries and departments, as well as of experts, preliminary conclusions will be made.
It is reported that proposals are being prepared to bring the draft law, which will be considered conceptually in the plenary session, to public discussion.
Previously, the president proposed to adopt these changes through a referendum.
