FM Vladimir Norov hosts Iran’s special envoy to Afghanistan
Acting Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov received yesterday the Special Representative of the President of Iran for Afghanistan Hassan Kazemi Qomi.
At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the situation in Afghanistan. They also discussed the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for the development of Uzbek-Iranian cooperation, as well as the interaction of the parties on the Afghan issue.
The sides voiced readiness to continue a constructive dialogue on the issues of post-conflict reconstruction in Afghanistan, the provision of humanitarian assistance to the fraternal Afghan people and their involvement in regional processes.
The Iranian side confirmed its participation in the work of the International Conference on Afghanistan scheduled for July 2022 in Tashkent.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to the implementation by Uzbekistan and Iran of infrastructure, transport and energy projects in Afghanistan.
