Nearly 1,800 officials brought to criminal liablity since the beginning of 2022
In the first half of the year, 1,785 officials were prosecuted in 1,429 cases.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, 13 of the prosecuted are employees of republican organizations, 195 – staff of regional departments of ministries and 1,577 workers of district (city) institutions.
Those brought to criminal responsibility committed such crimes as theft of another person’s property by appropriation and embezzlement (1,210 persons), abuse of official position (158), fraud (129), bribery (74), official forgery (22), negligence (15), abuse of power (7) and other crimes (170 persons).
As a result of these crimes, 668.2 billion soums worth of damage was caused to state and public interests, and 599.1 billion soums were recovered during the preliminary investigation.
