Foreign Minister of Germany to visit Uzbekistan

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock will start a three-day trip to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan on October 30, the spokesperson for the country’s MFA reported on Friday, October 28.

In Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, Baerbock is planning talks with his colleague Mukhtar Tleuberdi. In Uzbekistan’s capital, Tashkent, she will hold talks with the country’s foreign minister, Vladimir Norov, and visit the German-Uzbek Education Center. Afterwards, Baerbock visits the irrigation systems in Samarkand, which are being built with support from Germany.

She will be accompanied by a delegation of energy and infrastructure specialists, the German Foreign Ministry reported.

After her visit to the Central Asian republics, Baerbock will go to the summit of foreign ministers of the G7 countries, which will be held in Münster, Germany. The main topics of the meeting will be Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, relations with China and Iran.

The development of relations with Central Asian and African countries is also on the agenda. African foreign ministers and representatives of the African Union are expected to participate in the summit.
