AI-80 gasoline price expected to fall

The abolition of the excise tax on AI-80 gasoline should lead to a decrease in the cost of fuel at gas stations by 1,000-1,200 soums, said Deputy Minister of Energy Sherzod Khodjayev.

“AI-80 gasoline price is expected to drop to 5,500 soums,” the official noted.

Currently, its price ranges from 6,800 soums to 7,300 soums.

The representative of the ministry also spoke about the measures that will be taken against gas stations that will artificially inflate prices.

“Gas stations that artificially inflate gasoline prices will be cut from supplies. The supply of fuel to these gas stations will be resumed only when we receive letters of guarantee from them, with an obligation not to overcharge and follow all the requirements,” Sherzod Khodjayev said.
