Foreign Labor Migration Agency recovered $1.2 million worth of funds of labor migrants in 2022
Various services were provided to more than 308,000 labor migrants abroad during the past year. 1 thousand 397 citizens who were in a difficult situation were returned to Uzbekistan, wages of labor migrants in the amount of $1.2 million, compensation and insurance money were collected from foreign employers.
In 2022, the Foreign Labor Migration Agency carried out effective work in raising the geography of labor migration to a new level, providing legal, material and social support to labor migrants abroad, and establishing a safe, orderly and legal labor migration system.
In particular, 20 additional foreign labor migration agencies were established in Russia, and for the first time, 4 foreign labor migration agencies were established in Kazakhstan and Turkey. Representative offices abroad concluded cooperation agreements in the field of foreign labor migration with 112 large employers and recruiting agencies in the foreign labor market, and more than 15,000 vacancies were identified.
Based on the requirements of foreign employers, the Agency started to attract migrants to permanent income-generating work through vocational and foreign language training. 55 thousand 377 citizens were trained in “Ishga marhamat” monocenters, vocational training centers, foreign language training courses, training centers and non-state educational institutions.
Today, the Agency has agreements with more than 500 employers and recruiting agencies in the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Poland, Latvia, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Kuwait, Germany, South Korea, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Malaysia, Slovakia, Croatia, Serbia, Saudi Arabia, the Czech Republic and other countries of the world.
In 2022, about 36,000 citizens were employed in foreign countries, such as Russia, Korea, Kazakhstan, Germany, Serbia, Japan, England, and Turkey.
Various services were provided to more than 308,000 labor migrants in foreign countries during the past year. In particular, one-time financial assistance in the amount of $72,034 was given to 1,424 people, 1,397 citizens who were in a serious situation were returned to Uzbekistan, 7 citizens’ medical expenses worth 72.1 million soums were reimbursed. Also, 285 homeless citizens were accommodated in hostels and provided with 3 meals a day, 14,000 citizens were provided with legal assistance, and 20,000 citizens were provided with social assistance.
Labor migrants’ wages, compensation and insurance money in the amount of $1.2 million were collected from their employers.
Information and consultation services were provided to 271 thousand citizens by diplomatic missions, call-center, branches and representative offices of the Foreign Labor Migration Agency.
During the months of January-December 2022, more than 608,000 citizens returned from abroad, 488,900 of them were employed in permanent and temporary jobs in Uzbekistan, 168,800 of which were provided employment services by labor authorities. This year, the Foreign Labor Migration Agency will consistently continue the work in this direction.
