Tashkent records lowest temperature in last 50 years
On January 13, a temperature of -19.8°C was recorded in the city of Tashkent. This figure is the minimum temperature in the capital over the past half century.
During the cold winter months of 2007-2008, the temperature in Tashkent dropped to -17.4°C. The current cold anticyclone turned out to be stronger than the winter 2008 anticyclone.
The lowest temperature in the republic was recorded in Karakalpakstan, where in the 70s of the last century the temperature dropped to -40°C.
The Uzhydromet information service reported that the anticyclone is weakening a little, but Uzbekistan will remain under its influence for the next week.
