A new building wall cracks in Tashkent; Ministry of Construction starts checking

Reports circulated on social networks that a wall had cracked in one of the houses, which is located in the Mirzo-Ulugbek district. Users reported that the building was built about a year ago.

“We don’t need earthquakes. Here is the situation in a new building, it was built about a year ago. The wall split into two parts. The incident was recorded in the Mirzo-Ulugbek district of Tashkent,” the report reads.

The Ministry of Construction and Housing-Communal Services said that specialists are currently studying all the details. More information will be provided later.

Earlier, First Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing-Communal Services Davronjon Adilov said that “he cannot guarantee the work of 36 million people”. Thus, the official answered the question about the seismic resistance of buildings under construction in the country.

It also became known that in 2022, the construction control inspectorate received 16,576 requests for permission to commission buildings whose construction was completed. At the same time, applications for 11,162 objects were rejected, as they did not comply with the relevant construction standards.
