SSS reveals 18 billion soums worth of gas theft in Fergana

The State Security Service, along with the regional branch of JSC Hududgaz, conducted a mobile operation in the Kuvasoy district of the Fergana region to check the compliance of private enterprises with the established norms for the use of energy resources and found that one of the lime factories stole huge amounts of natural gas.

According to preliminary estimates, from last June to March this year, the company illegally used several billion cubic meters of natural gas by connecting to gas networks without proper documents.

The damage caused to the state amounted to 18 billion 314 million soums.

On this fact, a criminal case was initiated under the relevant article of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan.
