Law on ratification of the Convention protecting workers from occupational risk approved
The ratification of the document provides for the introduction of measures aimed at limiting the risks associated with unfavorable working conditions.

At the 40th plenary session of the Senate, the Law āOn the Ratification of the ILO Convention No. 148 on the Protection of Workers from Occupational Risk Caused by Air Pollution, Noise and Vibration at Work (Geneva, June 20, 1977)ā was approved.
The main objective of the Convention is to establish measures aimed at preventing and limiting occupational risks due to air pollution, noise and vibration in the workplace, through national legislation or regulations.
It was emphasized that the ratification of the Convention provides for systemic control measures, including an assessment of working conditions in the workplace, the presence of harmful and dangerous production factors, the severity and intensity of labor processes, and the risk of injury to equipment.
āLabor protection conditions that meet the requirements of international standards must be provided not only at state, but also at private enterprises. Because the rights of our citizens in relation to labor protection are equally important, regardless of the area in which they work,ā the Senate Chairperson Tanzila Narbayeva said.
She noted that for the real implementation of the Convention in the private sector, employers in the non-state sector must be aware of the requirements of this international document and strictly follow it.
This Convention has been ratified by 47 states of the world.
The senators stressed that the ratification of the Convention serves to improve national legislation and ensure the effective implementation of international standards on occupational safety and health, and also demonstrates Uzbekistanās commitment to basic international principles and standards to ensure the guarantees of workersā rights.
