“No violence should remain unpunished” – Saida Mirziyoyeva
Saida Mirziyoyeva, the head of the PA department, reacted to the fact that a dangerous recidivist criminal who brutally killed a 12-year-old girl in Yangihayot district of Tashkent was sentenced to life imprisonment.
“Yes, this punishment does not alleviate the suffering of the girl’s parents, it cannot compensate for the loss. But this is a fair court decision made under public scrutiny. No violence should remain unpunished. Laws should work not only to punish, but also to prevent such terrible crimes,” Mirziyoeva wrote on her Telegram channel.
Today, May 26, the Yakkasaray district court on criminal proceedings sentenced the killer, who first raped and then killed the girl, to life imprisonment.
He was found guilty of violating the provisions of administrative control, defamation, intentional homicide and other articles of the Criminal Code. The defendant was designated as a high-risk recidivist.
The incident that shocked the public happened on January 31 of this year in Yangihayot district of Tashkent. The girl, who went to school, did not return home. Later, it turned out that the killer was her neighbor and worked in the house where the girl lived.
