Uzbekistan’s large area covered with dust (videos)
Due to the strong wind, more than 40,000 consumers were disconnected from the electricity network in Bukhara, Navoi, Samarkand and Jizzakh regions.
On June 19, strong dust storms are observed in several regions of Uzbekistan. Videos circulating on social media show traffic jams on the streets due to bad weather.
MES presented information about the hydrometeorological natural phenomenon that occurred in Navoi, Bukhara and Samarkand regions.
Accordingly, on June 19 dust storms occurred in Navoi, Bukhara and Samarkand regions as a result of strong winds. Dust storms have been frequent in Uzbekistan, as well as in Central Asia and neighboring countries. Usually, masses of sand and dust that rise into the air disperse and settle on the ground after the wind weakens.
It is noted that currently no appeals have been received to the MES about the victims of the situation.
By this time, the situation has stabilized in the western regions, and a strong dust storm is observed in the city of Tashkent.
According to climatologist Erkin Abdulahatov, the observed dust storms in the republic are not continuous dust storms.
“Based on the height of dust storms and the current synoptic situation, it is possible to predict that this natural phenomenon will last up to 2-3 hours in places.
The situation with the dust storm in Bukhara and Navoi regions, which started first, is becoming more stable,” he said on his telegram channel.
