Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan complete demarcation of the state border
The authorities of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have successfully completed the demarcation of the state border.
This was stated by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Aibek Smadiyarov, Tengrinews reports.
“The agreement was signed on December 22, 2022 in Tashkent by the heads of the two states and ratified by the parliaments of both countries. The entry into force of this agreement means the complete completion of the 19-year process of demarcation of the state border between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
The 2,357-kilometer border is marked with 1,301 border markers and reflected in one demarcation document of more than eight thousand pages,” Smadiyarov said.
It should be recalled that on June 30, Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the law “On the ratification of the agreement between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan on the demarcation of the Uzbek-Kazakh state border”.
