Tashkent’s population nears almost 3 million
The most densely populated areas of the capital are Almazar, Yunusabad and Shaykhantakhur districts.
According to the Statistics Department of the city of Tashkent, as of July 1, the number of permanent residents of the capital is 2,999,500 people. Of these, 1,471,700 men and 1,527,800 women.
Most people live in Almazar district – 395 thousand, least of all – in Bektemir district (55.7 thousand people).
The population in the context of districts as of July 1 was distributed as follows:
• Almazar district – 395.0 thousand;
• Yunusabad district – 366.9 thousand;
• Shaykhantakhur district – 360.5 thousand;
• Mirzo-Ulugbek district – 323.1 thousand;
• Uchtepa district – 293.5 thousand;
• Yashnabad district – 289.4 thousand;
• Chilanzar district – 271.9 thousand;
• Yangihayot district – 161 thousand;
• Mirabad district – 150.1 thousand;
• Sergeli district – 162.3 thousand;
• Yakkasaray district – 126.9 thousand;
• Bektemir district - 55.7 thousand.
Considering that the data are given as of July 1, it is possible that over the past month the indicator was able to reach the mark of 3 million people.
