"Only the closest countries will make such an agreement" - Expert speaks about Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Interstate High Council
Rahmatilla Nurimbetov says that Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan are not only close partners in the economic and political spheres, but also historically are brotherly and Turkic nations.
On August 22-23, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev paid a state visit to Azerbaijan. Rahmatilla Nurimbetov, head of the Department of Cooperation with the CIS countries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, commented on the high-level meetings and the agreements reached during the visit.
"If we pay attention to the main signed documents. An agreement on the establishment of an interstate supreme council was signed between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. This level of agreement only exists between countries that are very close. Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan are not only transport-logistics and economic partners, but historically, they are Turkish states.
Within the framework of the visit, a bilateral business forum, meetings between industry ministers, and the results achieved in the negotiations are also important. Humanitarian and cultural events were also held. In particular, the opening of a school named after Mirzo Ulugbek in Karabakh was an initiative of Azerbaijan associated with the figure of Sharof Rashidov. Such projects and activities are an important factor that unites the two countries.
This all-round cooperation is enriched in terms of economic sectors, cultural and transport cooperation. Such significant cooperation is promising and is realized through the political will and practical work of the President of Uzbekistan," Rahmatilla Nurimbetov said.
