During the press tour, Chairman of Uzbekneftegaz JSC Bahodirjon Sidiqov commented on the reports that the “Taliban” movement “sent back 67 wagons of Uzbek oil due to its poor quality” and categorically denied the reports that the returned gasoline was being transferred to gas stations in Uzbekistan.

“There are rumors that low-quality gasoline is being sold at gas stations. This is incorrect information.

We have not taken the product brought back from Afghanistan anywhere. It is in a container, and it will be taken to another place and sold. Perhaps, the product will be sold in the domestic market.

This is a diesel product from GTL factory, it is a new product. This product standard is not available in Afghanistan. They didn’t understand it,” he said and showed the journalists a product that looked like water.

He assumed that the reason for the return of the product was the forces that do not want Uzbekistan to enter the Afghan market, and also informed that this product is being exported to European markets.

“We sent this product. It is qualitatively different from ordinary diesel, a much better product. This new product was supposed to enter the Afghan market. Unfortunately, the first batch was sent back. But this is an ongoing process, and it will not be easy to penetrate every market.

I’m sure there are a lot of people out there who don’t want us to enter this market, not just the Afghan government... Because the Afghan market is a good market.

But as a proof that this is a good product, last month we sold 1,000 tons of the same product to Estonia, and received an order for another 10,00 tons. Currently, we are loading the order.

In addition, there are intergovernmental agreements... We are looking for ways to deliver our products to Europe through the Middle Corridor, that is, the Caspian Corridor.

When passing through Azerbaijan and Georgia, Georgians tell us that this is a great product; they are placing an order for 33,000 tons.

No one should doubt the quality of this product. We sold 12,000 tons of this product to Tajikistan last year, and now we are loading another 5,000 tons.

This product was not returned due to poor quality. I guarantee it. This is an excellent product that meets Euro-6 standards. I ask you not to believe the news spread in the media. We are exporting to European countries,” Sidiqov said.

At the beginning of August, the Afghanistan National Standards Authority (ANSA) reported that oil in 67 tankers imported from Uzbekistan was sent back. At that time, Uzbekneftegaz reported that it was about synthetic diesel produced at the GTL plant and that the Afghan government did not return the product to the manufacturer.
