Benefits apply to those types of equipment whose analogues are not produced in Uzbekistan.
The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution to simplify the import of a number of types of industrial and other machines into Uzbekistan. The document was published on Lex.uz.
The decision is aimed at implementing measures to simplify the use of the customs regime of “processing in the customs zone”, outlined at the dialogue with the president in 2022. Last October, the head of state ordered that certain types of equipment be exempted from duties.
Customs duties will not apply to the following items provided that there are no similar goods produced in Uzbekistan:
1. wheel lifting trusses, portal loaders;
2. tower cranes;
3. pneumatic lifts and conveyors for textile fibers;
4. other pneumatic lifts and conveyors;
5. bucket elevators and continuous conveyors;
6. belt elevators and conveyors;
7. roller conveyors;
8. other elevators and conveyors;
9. sorting machines, as well as machines for putting envelopes, tying, opening, closing, sealing mail, gluing and canceling stamps;
10. equipment for producing tobacco sticks;
11. alternating current generators (power 375−750 kVA);
12. alternating current generators (with a capacity of more than 750 kVA);
13. equipment for high temperature welding;
14. mining dump trucks with a carrying capacity of over 50 tons;
15. greenhouse technology and equipment.
The list of the above equipment older than three years, which falls under benefits, will be determined by the Government Commission on Foreign Trade, Investment, Development of Local Industry and Technical Regulation.
