Chinese company to invest $10 million in pepper processing in Andijan
The launch of the investment project will ensure the annual export of products worth $30 million.
The Chinese company Xinjiang Tianjiao Hong'an Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. plans to invest $10 million in pepper processing in the Andijan region, the regional administration said.
On September 23, the governor of the Andijan region Shukhratbek Abdurahmonov discussed with a representative of Xinjiang Tianjiao Hong'an Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. the implementation of an investment project for processing pepper in the region. The project cost is estimated at $10 million.
It is expected that the launch of the project will ensure annual exports of products worth $30 million.
To implement the project, the Chinese company was offered to enter into direct contracts with local farmers to grow pepper on an area of two thousand hectares. The purchase price of pepper proposed by the Chinese side is $1.1 per kilogram.
