Minister of Energy Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov provided information on gas imports from Russia.

“Of course, this is a historic date. Because until now, only gas has been supplied to Russia from where we are now. In a short time, the first gas measuring device was built and put into operation from scratch. Today we started receiving gas from Russia. Within the framework of long-term cooperation, the supply of natural gas from Russia will provide a part of the gas deficit in the autumn-winter season, taking into account the growth of the economy of Uzbekistan, the population and the demand for energy resources. As part of the official visits of the President, we have started the discussion of a medium and long-term contract with Gazprom,” Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov said in an interview with “Uzbekistan 24” TV channel.

Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan is starting to import gas from Russia. Gas transmission through the Central Asia-Central main pipeline network is being carried out in reverse order. Part of the Russian gas coming through this network is directed to the Northern regions of Kazakhstan, and the main part to Uzbekistan.

The commercial contract between UzGasTrade and Gazprom Export was concluded for a period of 2 years, within which it was agreed to purchase 9 million cubic meters of natural gas per day and about 2 billion 800 million cubic meters of natural gas per year.
