Shavkat Mirziyoyev meets with Erdoğan
The leaders of Uzbekistan and Turkey noted that there are ample opportunities for further development of strategic partnership.
On November 8, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a meeting with the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who came to our country to participate in the 16th summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization.
Issues of further expansion of multilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey and development of comprehensive strategic partnership relations were discussed.
It was noted with pleasure that the dialogue and exchanges are actively continued. The volume of trade, the number of direct flights, and the flow of tourists are increasing.
Major investment projects are being implemented in our country with the participation of leading Turkish companies. More than $500 million of direct investments have been attracted since the beginning of the year, more than 200 new enterprises have been established.
The importance of accelerating joint projects and programs in trade, industry, innovation, energy, transport, education, culture, tourism and other fields was emphasized.
The plan of future activities, including preparation for the next meeting of the Uzbekistan-Turkey Strategic Cooperation Council, was reviewed.
The heads of state also exchanged views on topical issues of regional importance.
