Jamil Sharapov becomes Uzbekistan’s new Consul General in New York
The new Consul General of Uzbekistan, Jamil Sharapov, has taken up his duties in New York.

Prior to the appointment, Sharapov worked as Deputy Director of the Consular and Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He replaced Kamol Ikramov, who headed the Consulate General in New York in 2018–2023.
The consular district of the Consulate General includes the following states and administrative territories of the United States: Idaho, Iowa, Alaska, Arizona, Wyoming, Washington, Vermont, Virgin Islands, Wisconsin, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, California, Kansas, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Michigan, Montana, Maine, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, as well as Mexico and countries of South America (except for Brazil - included in the consular district of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Washington).
