Bekobod district governor arrested
The governor of the Bekobod district Shuhrat Mirzayev has been arrested. He is suspected of embezzling budget funds.
Shuhrat Mirzayev, the governor of the Bekobod district, is suspected in a criminal case. According to a Kun.uz source, he was arrested as part of an anti-corruption campaign. A preventive measure of imprisonment is applied against him.
Mirzayev was appointed to the position of governor on August 7 this year. Before that, he worked at Qishloqqurilishbank.
Kun.uz source added that within the framework of anti-corruption campaigns, about ten officials were detained in the last month.
