Deputy governor of Namangan region arrested
Saidahmad Sultonov, who worked as the deputy governor of Namangan region for construction issues for the last three years, is suspected of a criminal case related to the illegal sale of land, Kun.uz source reported.
Saidahmad Sultonov, deputy governor of Namangan region in charge of construction, communications, communal economy, ecology and greening, was arrested as part of a criminal case related to the illegal sale of land. According to the Kun.uz source, a preventive measure of imprisonment was applied against him.
Saidahmad Sultonov has been working in this position since October 2020. Prior to that, he worked as the head of the main construction department of Namangan region.
Saidahmad Sultonov was born in 1976 in the city of Namangan. He graduated from Namangan Institute of Engineering and Economics in 1998.
He started his career in 1998 as a leading specialist of the State Cadaster Department of Namangan district. During 2001-2012, he worked in various positions in the cadastral enterprises of the region and Namangan city. In 2012-2018, he was the deputy governor of Namangan city.
On December 18, it was announced that instead of Sultonov, the governor of Namangan city, Gofur Jamolov, was appointed as the deputy governor of Namangan region.
The Kun.uz source said that in the last month, about ten officials were arrested as part of anti-corruption measures.
