Shavkat Mirziyoyev orders to bring famous brands to Uzbekistan
Enterprises starting production with prestigious international brands will have privileges and reliefs, a number of costs will be compensated, they will be able to import necessary raw materials duty-free.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev gave instructions on establishing the production of local products under famous brands at the meeting on December 18.
As an example it was mentioned that an aluminum packaging enterprise worth $50 million with a production capacity of 2.5 million units per year will be launched in Chirchik in October next year falls. It is a base of ready-made raw materials for not only soft drinks, but also cosmetics, household chemicals, and food brands.
In this regard, it was assigned to work with dozens of prestigious brands and take measures to bring them to Uzbekistan.
It is noted that new approaches to attracting brands will be introduced:
• the costs of international standards, ecology and certification are covered for enterprises starting production with prestigious international brands;
• for products produced under famous brands, all raw materials required for them are exempted from customs duties, provided that localization is at least 60%;
• local entrepreneurs who produce at least 30% of their products under the brand name are given the benefits and facilities provided for enterprises with foreign investment;
• technologists, designers, marketers, etc., recruited from major brands, are not charged for working in Uzbekistan.
In the chemical industry , it was noted that almost all of the basic raw materials necessary for products in high demand are available in our country, and it is necessary to use these opportunities effectively. In general, it was reported that projects worth $3 billion were formed in the field of chemistry.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev addressed the issues of realization of existing potential in the electrical industry. It was noted that there is an opportunity to implement a $2 billion project in the network next year, as well as a large market for products.
For example, the cable will be needed for projects started with Saudi Arabia's Aqua Power to build 5 gigawatt solar and wind farms. In total, the 27 gigawatts of solar and wind projects already underway require $500 million worth of cabling.
In this regard, it was said that in the future, it is planned to launch 5 projects worth $120 million in the Akhangaran industrial zone, to produce 25 thousand tons of copper cables and 1.5 thousand transformers, to launch a technology park worth $120 million in the city of Bukhara, and to localize household appliances worth $25 million.
