Another person who organized a mining farm arrested in Samarkand
He arbitrarily connected to the electricity network without meters and caused damage to the state of more than 2.5 billion soums.
At the event held in cooperation with employees of the DIA Cybersecurity Department and specialists of the regional power grid enterprise, it was found out that S.B., a 51-year-old resident of Samarkand (Samarkand region), has established an illegal mining farm in the territory of the “OIL EXTRACTION” LLC, and has been operating by illegally connecting 10 units of Abtiminer S19, 3 units of Whatsminer M30 mining devices to the city’s electricity networks. It turned out that he organized a total of 13 mining devices, the DIA Cybersecurity press service reported.
It was determined that mining activities caused material damage in the amount of 2 billion 530 thousand soums by arbitrarily connecting to the electricity network without appropriate meters, without any permits and documents.
On the above fact, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 169-4 (theft) of the Criminal Code. Investigation and search efforts are being continued in order to check the involvement of S.B. in other crimes of this type.
According to the law, for committing the criminal acts in Article 169-4 of the Criminal Code, the offender will be sentenced to imprisonment from 8 to 15 years.
