Andijan to establish production of electric buses and scooters
The region’s delegation entered into investment agreements worth $1.4 billion with Chinese companies.
Currently, the delegation of the Andijan region is in China on a working visit to organize new investment projects.
Over the weekend, the guests held several more meetings with representatives of Chinese business. Thus, the regional governor Shukhrat Abdurakhmonov held negotiations with the management of the electric transport company Lanzhou Guangtong New Energy Automobile.
The parties signed a memorandum on the creation of joint production of 2,000 electric buses annually in Uzbekistan. The project is estimated at $100 million.
In addition, another agreement was concluded with Lanzhou Guangtong for the same amount. As part of this, the company will launch the production of electric scooters in Andijan.
Top managers of solar photovoltaic panel supplier Gansu Yucun New Energy Technology also met with Abdurakhmanov. A contract was signed with them for the supply of equipment to power water pumps with a total value of $400 million.
Then the Uzbek delegation visited the COOC Furniture furniture factory in Fushan, Guangdong Province. The company was offered to organize a subsidiary in a specialized industrial zone in the Oltinkul district.
After this, Abdurakhmonov held a meeting in Guangzhou with representatives of Xinjiang Zunqin Biotechnology Co., Ltd. and signed an agreement with them for $15 million to launch the production of household goods.
Prior to this, a business forum of the two countries was held in Tianjin with the participation of about 300 Chinese entrepreneurs. Agreements worth $1.2 billion were concluded there.
It is planned to build small hydroelectric power stations in 10 districts of the region together with companies from China. The package also included projects for the production of shoes, elevators, batteries for electric vehicles, metal structures, and the cultivation and processing of pepper.
