Criminal case initiated against officials of 12 auto leasing companies in Uzbekistan

Over the past years, about 2,000 complaints have been received in Uzbekistan regarding cases where advance payments were made for cars, but the cars were not delivered within the specified period or the paid money was not returned, the Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights reported.

There are more complaints against “UMID AUTO COMPANIES” LLC, “ORIENT AUTO-LEASING” LLC and “IMKON AUTO” LLC, “MEGA AUTO LEASING” LLC, “AVTO 60-OY” LLC, “AVTOHAMKOR 0 FOIZ” LLC and other enterprises.

These enterprises attract consumers’ funds with the promise of a new car in a short period of time, cover their obligations with funds borrowed from other consumers, and delay (withhold) the return of money received from consumers for more than a year.

On the above facts, criminal cases were initiated against “Umid auto leasing”, “Umid leasing Tashkent”, “Umid auto”, “Umid auto Tashkent”, “Mega Avto Lizing-Hamkor”, “Mega Avto Lizing”, “Samo Rimmax Avto”, “Rimmax Auto Leasing”, “Ishonch Auto Leasing”, “Asr Auto Leasing”, “Baraka Avto Baraka Business” LLCs by law enforcement agencies.

“However, today, officials of such enterprises continue to commit crimes such as attracting money by misleading consumers or abuse of trust, and many complaints are received from consumers about their activities. Besides, although it has been talked about many times about auto leasing companies like “Avto 60-oy” and “Avtohamkor 0 foiz” that embezzled billions of people’s money, some of our citizens still believe in the deception of such companies,” the committee said.

“Dear citizens, before concluding (signing) a contract with an auto leasing company and paying them, familiarize yourself with the terms of the contract, read the payment requirements and the terms and conditions of its return in problematic situations, check the reliability of the company from information sources, any fraud and don't believe the promises,” the committee warned.
