US rejected visas for around 60 percent of applicants from Uzbekistan in 2023

Uzbekistan has the highest rejection rate in Central Asia.

The United States has released official statistics on B1/B2 nonimmigrant visa denials for 2023.

According to the US State Department, in the 2023 fiscal year (the period from October 1, 2022 to September 30, 2023), visa applications of about 60 percent of applicants from Uzbekistan were rejected.

It should be noted that the visa rejection rate is calculated relative to the number of B visa applicants.

In 2023, the visa refusal rate among Central Asian countries was as follows:

- Uzbekistan – 59.56 percent;

- Tajikistan – 54.96 percent;

- Turkmenistan – 51.10 percent;

- Kazakhstan – 41.93 percent;

- Kyrgyzstan – 41.54 percent.

Countries whose citizens have received the most rejections in the world:

- Micronesia, Palau and the DPRK - 100 percent;

- Liberia – 78.19 percent;

- Laos – 72.79 percent;

- Rwanda – 71 percent;

- Somalia – 69.89 percent;

- Djibouti – 68.37 percent;

- Nicaragua – 65.6 percent.

The countries with the lowest rejection rate:

- Qatar – 2.53 percent;

- Uruguay – 3.21 percent;

- Israel – 3.3 percent;

- Kuwait – 3.96 percent;

- Luxembourg – 4.22 percent;

- Solomon Islands – 4.35 percent;

- Malaysia – 4.43 percent;

- Cyprus – 4.48 percent;

- Iceland – 4.54 percent.
