Flight from Tashkent to Bukhara returns due to dust storm
In an unexpected turn due to adverse weather conditions, Uzbekistan Airways flight HY23 from Tashkent to Bukhara was forced to return to its departure point shortly after takeoff.
The flight's crew made the preemptive decision to head back to Tashkent International Airport due to a severe dust storm that drastically reduced visibility at Bukhara Airport.
Prioritizing safety, the crew ensured the aircraft and its 125 passengers returned without incident, touching down in Tashkent at 16:03 local time.
A statement from the press service of Uzbekistan Airports indicated that the airline intended to reschedule the flight to Bukhara at the earliest opportunity once meteorological conditions normalized and it was deemed safe to fly.
