Uzbekistan to help Kazakhstan with water: 800 cubic meters of water per second will flow in March this year along the Syrdarya
The Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurzhan Nurzhigitov spoke about the agreements with Uzbekistan.
According to the minister, 800 cubic meters of water per second will flow in March this year along the Syrdarya River.
“The specified volume of water should flow to Kazakhstan in February and March of this year. In February, the Uzbek side fulfilled its obligations, so it is expected that these indicators will continue in March,” the ministry clarified.
It is noted that the construction of 57 reservoirs is planned throughout Kazakhstan, of which 20 will be built by the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation.
The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of Kazakhstan was created on behalf of President Tokayev in September last year in order to closely deal with pressing issues in this industry.
