UNG Petro network privatized

The ownership of petrol stations belonging to Uzbekneftegaz was transferred to the company belonging to the son of former FM Abdulaziz Komilov. It is not known when and for what price Petroleum Technology Group, the sole founder of which was Doniyor Komilov, bought the UNG Petro network.

100% of the state’s share in the authorized capital of UNG Petro LLC, which is owned by Uzbekneftegaz, the largest network of gas stations in Uzbekistan, has been privatized.

According to the Unified State Register of Enterprises and Organizations, at the moment, 100% of UNG Petro LLC is “Petroleum Technology Group” LLC owned by the sole founder - Komilov Doniyor Abdulazizovich. This company was registered in Tashkent on October 4, 2023. Its current charter fund - 101 million soums. Field of activity - consulting on commercial activities and management issues.

On May 31 last year, the State Assets Management Agency announced a competition for the involvement of a professional consulting company on privatization. After that, no further information was released to the public. It is not known when and for how much “Petroleum Technology Group” bought the UNG Petro network.

Who is Doniyor Komilov?

Daniyor Komilov is the son of Abdulaziz Komilov, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, who currently works as the Deputy Secretary of the Security Council under the President for Foreign Policy and Security Affairs.

In 2021, “Metropol Group” LLC, the sole founder of which was Doniyor Komilov, bought the former NSC building located on Sayilgoh Street in Tashkent for 210 billion soums. Later, in the spring of 2023, it became known that Radisson Hotel Group signed an agreement with “Metropol Group” to build a hotel on the site of this building.

In February 2023, it was also reported that “First Premium Alliance” LLC, owned by Komilov, bought the joint-stock company "Qo‘qon biokimyo”. He also owns 100% of shares in companies such as “Delta global dynamics”, “Progressgortech-asia”, “Toshkent qog‘ozi”.

In the summer of last year, it was reported that Komilov Jr. became the beneficial owner of one of the largest copper-producing companies in Russia - the Ural mining and metallurgical company.

In 2010-2014, he was the head of Gazprombank’s “Upravlyayushchaya kompaniya - Strategicheskie aktivy” JSC structure. He was also a member of the board of directors of “Uralmashzavod” in 2015-2016.
