Head of Navoi regional CCI department suspected of fraud and bribery

In 2020, Omonboyeva, who was awarded the state prize named after Zulfiya, attracted the public attention when, during the visit of the head of state to the Navoi region, she said: “We received the inspiration from you”.

A criminal case has been instituted against Omonboyeva, the head of the Navoi regional department of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the criminal case was opened under Articles 168 (fraud) and 211 (giving bribes) of the Criminal Code.

However, according to the post of the press service of the Navoi regional CCI department, published on April 18, the Merey Omonboyeva continues her activities. On this day, she visited one of the enterprises located in the Navbakhor district to get acquainted with its activities.

It should be recalled that the 27-year-old Merey Omonboyeva headed the regional CCI department on March 6 of this year. Prior to that, she worked as an assistant to governor in the “Zarafshon” mahalla, Navoi region.

In 2020, she was awarded the Zulfiya State Prize.
