Uzbekistan's Foreign Minister receives credentials from new Chilean Ambassador
Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, received the credentials of the new Ambassador of Chile, Eduardo Escobar.
"We accepted the credentials of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Chile to Uzbekistan, Eduardo Escobar," wrote the head of Uzbekistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on his telegram channel. "During the meeting, we noted the importance of strengthening our relations, consolidating business ties, and establishing new formats of cooperation, including inter-parliamentary dialogue, joint trade commissions, and much more."
It should be recalled that Uzbekistan and Chile established diplomatic relations almost 30 years ago, on September 15, 1994.
The new Chilean Ambassador is 64 years old and is a career diplomat. He has served in the central apparatus of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chilean diplomatic missions in Israel, Côte d`Ivoire, Argentina, Canada, the USA, Australia, Ecuador, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia. Since May 2021, he has been the ambassador to Russia. He speaks English, Spanish, and French.
