Ministries to move to New Tashkent

Executive bodies at the republican level will be moved to the city of New Tashkent, and their current buildings will be sold. The proceeds from the sale will be used for the construction of administrative buildings in New Tashkent.

The executive authorities of the Republic of Uzbekistan will be moved to the territory of the city of New Tashkent. Proposals in this regard must be developed within 3 months.

This was defined in the presidential decree “On additional measures to reduce state participation in the economy”.

According to the decision, the coordination council for the construction of the city of New Tashkent (chaired by PM Abdulla Aripov) must, within 3 months, make a proposal to move the executive authorities of the republic to the territory of the city of New Tashkent, effectively use their administrative buildings and direct funds from their sale to construction of administrative buildings.

It should be recalled that President Mirziyoyev spoke about this in March 2023 at the ceremony of laying the first stone for the construction of the New Tashkent project.

The head of state said that government institutions will gradually move to New Tashkent, and hotels, service and trade facilities will open on the site of the current buildings.
