Uzbekistan eliminates VAT on import of precious stones for jewelry making
Precious stones imported for the production of jewelry will be exempt from VAT until 2027.
Imports of precious stones used for the production of jewelry items will be free from VAT in Uzbekistan until January 1, 2027.
Amendments providing temporary tax benefits were made to the Tax Code. The corresponding law was signed by Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
This decision was taken with the aim of providing domestic jewelry producers with raw materials and enhancing their export potential.
