Lithuania appoints new ambassador to Uzbekistan
On May 16, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, received the new Ambassador of Lithuania, Egidijus Navikas.
During the meeting following the official ceremony, the sides exchanged views on strengthening relations in a number of areas.
"We discussed the key priorities of our cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats and contemplated our common agenda for the near future. I wish Mr. Ambassador every success in further realizing the great potential of our expanding relations," the minister wrote on his Telegram channel.
It should be noted that Uzbekistan and Lithuania established diplomatic relations on August 5, 1992.
Egidijus Navikas succeeds Gintautas Vasiulis, who served as the head of the diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan in 2023-2024.
