Hundreds of administrative cases launched for energy violations in Uzbekistan
In May, Uzenergoinspeksiya initiated 489 administrative cases related to violations of rules governing the use of energy resources. Currently, an investigation is being conducted in Zamin against officials of a farming enterprise suspected of stealing electricity worth 207.6 million UZS.
During inspection operations, 312 cases of violations in the area of electricity supply and 177 cases of violations in the natural gas sector were detected.
On June 3, the Department at the Prosecutor General's Office announced that another case of electricity theft had been detected in Jizzakh.
During the pre-investigation check conducted by the Zamin district department of the department jointly with employees of the Regional Energy Supply, it was found that the heads of the "K" and "S.N." farming enterprises, along with other individuals, illegally used electrical energy worth 207.6 million UZS for commercial purposes. This was done by interfering with the transformer and electronic computing equipment installed on the respective land plots.
Criminal cases have been initiated under Article 169 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan (Theft) concerning these incidents.
