Uzhydromet issues warning for Fergana Valley residents due to possible heavy rains
Due to expected heavy rainfall, flash floods may occur in Namangan, Fergana, and Andijan regions on the 12 and 13 of June. There is a possibility of water build-up and flooding in these areas.
Heavy rains are expected on the 12 and 13 of June, which might lead to flash flood incidents in the foothill and mountainous regions of the republic, Uzhydromet reports.
Regions where flash floods are expected:
In Namangan region: Pop, Kosonsoy, Chortok, Chust, Namangan, Yangikurgan districts;
In Fergana region: Sokh, Fergana, Besharyk districts and Shohimardon exclave;
In Andijan region: Andijan, Asaka, Jalakuduk, Kurgantepa, Pakhtaobod, Izboskan, Khujaobod, Marhamat districts and the city of Khanabad.
Residents, vacationers, and drivers moving through the foothill and mountainous regions are urged to take precautions.
It has been additionally noted that there is a possibility of water build-up in the regions of the Fergana Valley, which can lead to flooding.
