Car hijacker sentenced to 15 years in prison
Drunk driving cost a lot for a Surkhandarya resident who stole someone else's car.
On June 15, 2024, the Temes City Criminal Court heard a case of car theft, the Millar program reported.
The hijacker turned out to be a local resident who had previously been repeatedly prosecuted for criminal charges, but did not draw the appropriate conclusions from this, a dangerous repeat offender born in 1975. Being drunk, he took advantage of the fact that the parked car was unlocked and stole it. Along the way, the attacker lost control and crashed someone else's car. After that, he fled from the scene.
In court, the accused stated that he repented of his crime. However, in accordance with paragraph “a” of Article 267-3 of the Criminal Code (Theft of a vehicle by a particularly dangerous repeat offender), the defendant was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
