Earthquake with an epicenter in Kyrgyzstan hits Uzbekistan
An earthquake of magnitude 4.2 was recorded in Kyrgyzstan at 17:09, the force of tremors in Uzbekistan reached 3 points, reports the Republican Center for Seismic Forecasting Monitoring of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
“Earthquake coordinates: 41.58 degrees north latitude; 71.21 degrees east longitude. Magnitude M=4.2. Depth 10 km. The distance from the epicenter to Tashkent is 170 km in the northeast direction,” the report reads.
The strength of the tremors in the Yangikurgan district was 2-3 points, in the Kasansay and Chust districts - 2 points. Tremors were also felt in Tashkent.
The day before, seismologists from Uzbekistan recorded an earthquake of magnitude 4 in Kyrgyzstan. The strength of the tremors in the Pakhtaabad district (Andijan region) was 2 points.
